“COLLECTIONS”

Anna Vorster. (SA 1928-1990)
The most powerful element in Anna Vorster’s paintings is the strength and character captured on canvas. It is there in each component – colour, subject and especially line. An Anna Vorster painting is thoroughly devised, and cannot be subjected to revision. The statement is never half-hearted. It does not deal with the trivial or the inconsequential, each work captures the soul of the period, the person or the landscape.
Right up to her death in Pretoria on 15 April 1990,
art of the highest quality flowed from Anna Vorster’s hands.
Ernest Rood. (SA 1931 - )
The opposite pole in concept and style to Anna Vorster is an Artist from the same era, Ernest Rood. He captures, in a traditional style, moments of nature, people and landscape scenes. After a long and fruitful career as artist, art teacher and mentor, a large collection of artworks comprising oil paintings, watercolours and ink drawings are now being exhibited.
Many of Ernest Rood’s artworks have been taken up in collections in South Africa, England, Germany, Holland and France.
